To many, the BMW R 1200 RT is the gold standard for sport touring, offering a classic air-cooled boxer twin design that has decades-old roots, yet has four valves per cylinder, twin-spark ignition, and sophisticated fuel injection.

Front suspension is handled by BMW’s proprietary Telelever system, which uses a single center spring strut to eliminate front end dive during braking.

The RT has features such as Integral ABS, cruise control, On Board Computer, dual accessory sockets, a center stand, and heated grips.

For the model year 2012 the BMW R 1200 RT is available in the following new paint finishes:

Midnightblue metallic
Light magnesium metallic/Magnesium beige metallic
Fluidgrey metallic

The paint finishes Polar metallic, Thundergrey metallic, Ostra grey metallic matt and Thundergrey metallic/Titan silver metallic/Granite gray metallic are no longer available.
